Selective Enforcements/Party Patrols
In addition to alcohol compliance checks, law enforcement officers routinely conduct saturation patrols looking at known areas where youth might gather, including parks and private residential areas.
Party patrols and selective enforcement operations should be used in conjunction with compliance checks to allow a community to address both the retail and social availability of alcohol to youth. Such operations are most effective when scheduled to target holidays, graduation time, community special events and summer months.
Within the context of youth alcohol enforcement operations, it is critical for a community's discussion to focus on the adult providers of alcohol to youth.
